Latest Posts – Category Selection

First off,

thanks so much for the plugin and for the hard work you put into maintaining it.
It’s been great being able to design pages and posts with the features you’ve made available to us.

On the recent WordPress Update 5.5, it seems that there are some problems with the recent posts block. I can create the block and edit everything the way I want, all but the category selection.

I’ve seen two different scenarios but basically the same result. I can click to select the category, but it will not load, change, or apply. If I try to save and come back to the page it will show up as never being selected.

Pages that I’ve already created are not affected. (As long as I don’t try to change the category) But for all new pages, posts the block category selector won’t work.

Please assist.
