    Hi Jeff,

    just a thought:

isn’t it fairly easy for any bot to simply look for your plugin’s “signature” in the nofollow link (?blackhole), and simply avoid that pitfall (while still disobeying all other nofollow links) ?

At least that’s what I’d consider implementing if I were in charge of a bad bot.

The reason being that the plugin’s signature is static, so it’s easy for bots to specifically look out for it.

Whereas if it were dynamically generated for each website, that would be a different story and much harder to avoid for bots, wouldn’t it?

Curious to hear your thoughts on that, maybe I’m completely misjudging this.

    Thank you!

    Best,
    Flo

    Hi Flo,

You make a good point and the pro version actually has an option to customize the trigger keyword. So you can change it to whatever cryptic string periodically.

I also like your idea of changing it dynamically, and will look at adding such feature to a future update of the free version (and maybe pro as well).

    Thank you for the idea!

    Hi Jeff,

it’s great to see that you are so open and willing to implement changes where they make sense.

I’ll be looking forward to that update with dynamic strings ?? !

    Thanks so much!
