    Dear BetterDocs support team,
As of version 1.3.3 (the last correct working version for me was 1.3.2) I see a 404 page whenever I go to the article pages. The slugs are not changed, but for some reason the article pages (all of them) won’t show on the front-end.
I am still developing the website on a local dev environment, web server nginx, WordPress version 5.4.2, PHP version 7.2.9, MySQL version 5.7.23, and I use the Corporate Pro theme (on the Genesis framework).
Would be great if you could help me out here, please.
    Thanks!

  • I’m getting 400 errors since updating the plugin today and my site is hosted by Godaddy ??

    Hey @fgoulding @hyilmaz,

Please update to the latest version of BetterDocs Free 1.3.4. and check back? It should be working fine.

I have just checked from my end with latest version of BetterDocs and single articles are showing as expected. You can see the screen record here to see my settings: https://d.pr/v/dKSVgl

So, guys, try updating the plugin and your issue should be resolved.

    Thank you!

Nope, this issue (or maybe similar one) persists also with the newest version!
Might be an issue in combination with WPML. One site with WPML: 404 in a random manner even for non Betterdocs pages. On the Site without WPML no issues.

As soon as i deactivate betterdocs things work normaly again on the site. And as it worked before without issues… i can only blame betterdocs. ??

I’m running the latest version of BetterDocs Free and Pro.

My guess is that my error is related to multiple knowledge bases as the URL looks strange. For instance, for one knowledge base it is:

    https://www.theagilebusiness.com/the-library/%knowledge_base%/market-factors/

Which gives me the 400 Bad Request error.

    Dear @rafinkhan

Thanks for getting back ! I’ve updated the names I gave for the Custom Category Slug and the Custom Tag Slug in the Settings, and now the single articles are showing again!
I guess the new version of the plugin doesn’t support these slugs to be named exactly the same (whereas before version 1.3.2 this was not a problem).
What my settings look like now: https://tiny.cc/ph0nsz

Thank you and have a good day,

It might be related to WPML, because I also run WPML on my site. I also have a second custom post type (Genesis Portfolio Pro). These are the things I can think about that causes this bug.

I can absolutely say its a bug in combinationn with WPML. I have like many plugins and spend 2 days to narrow it down to betterdocs and wpml. the funny thing is that it triggers the servers 404, not the custom 404. In the logs i get things like this:
    .863206 [INFO] [1407] [xxx.xxx.xx.xx:12524#APVH_xxxx.com:443] File not found [/var/www/vhosts/xxxxxx.com/httpdocs/hu/index.php]
Betterdocs clearly interferes with the rewrites of WPML and this only since like Version 1.3.2 above.

I have to correct, myself. With 1.3.2 its the same issue. I probably just didnt see the error at the beginning as it only happens with WPML Language “subdirectorys” and translated content. Funny is that Betterdocs pages are fine.

    @secondsky100 @hyilmaz @fgoulding,

Hey, guys. Do you guys have the Multiple Knowledge Base option enabled from BetterDocs Settings? Besides, are you guys using Elementor and Essential Addons to display your BetterDocs Knowledge Base?

Can you please share your page URL so that we can check? In the meantime, we are investigating it with WPML.

    Thank you!

At least i dont have the multiple KB activated. I did even roll back to 1.3.2 and even without the Pro version… still same issue. Now i could only test to roll back to a even older version… if that helps.
Sharing URL will not help as i deactivated Betterdocs for now. And will not activate it during daytime as it renders the site useless.
And unfortunately PMs are not supported here… and dont want to share the site or so publicly.
I might try to put WP into debug mode and see if it produces some log of it…will see

I had multiple knowledge bases enabled and I was using the Elementor/Essential add-on but I’ve had to disable the multiple KB’s until the bug is fixed.

    @hyilmaz @secondsky100 @fgoulding,

Hey, guys. We are preparing a new release for both BetterDocs and Essential Addons early next week which will resolve the issues you guys are facing.

    Thank you!

Good to hear! Lets hope it will eliminate this bad bug ??
