    Hi there,

I’m having issues ever since I changed to this plugin with Google crawling my website.

My website used to show at the top of Google search results and now it’s failing to index.

All my posts, pages and categories are all as Index, Follo and Archive.

Not sure why this is happening, much appreciated with the help.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey Sam, let’s have a look. It looks like you put a real effort into that website, I also see that banner stating you are having problems… I am sorry for that.

First thing I noticed is that your website is unusually slow to respond (from Europe) are you using free Cloudflare by chance? I understand we are not your target market, but still, maybe you should look into that.

…aaaand your website gave up completely now. I’m afraid this might not be a problem with SEO plugin, but rather Cloudflare. Maybe you offload images? If it is not accessible to, I suspect Googlebot is not able to access it either. Definitively looks like a networking problem from my chair.

I would try reaching out to Cloudflare support first or considering better tier (paid) or entirely new provider. Also, disable any caching plugins until you resolve this.

Have you changed anything else besides SEO plugin? I’m not trying to pass blame, I just know our plugin it very unlikely to do what I’m experiencing.

I’ll be home over the weekend so I’ll try to keep an eye on this topic.

    Hey,

    Thanks for your response.

Our website is a news website, we’re a brand new startup and just really trying out new things with WordPress as we were with another system provider beforehand. It’s really open with the number of opportunities WP offers.

Most of our systems are customised to fit our needs or have hooks into other plugins, but WordPress has been the best platform that we have invested into so far.

Really enjoying TSF so far ?? it’s been a massive improvement for our pages SEO with meta titles/descriptions. Our previous system was lacking the simplicity that your plugin has for categories, pages and posts.

We do run with Cloudflare so of course we never thought that possibly it could be their service causing the issue.

I and our team will revise over this current issue, we’ve contacted Google and will be further contacting Cloudflare to see what’s up – likewise as you said, it most likely is not your plugin, as we did checks for Index, Follow and, Archive earlier today and had no issues with search engines technically finding us.

It could be also another issue with our security so we’ll look into that.

I’ll keep this discussion support forum in my notes in case Cloudflare or Google says something else.

    Thanks for your response,

    Cheers.

Thanks for the info. I just noticed I made a bunch of typos in my previous reply, sorry for that, I just woke up ツ

That’s the reason every 3rd. website on the planet is using it. Beware, a lot of plugins are complete ghetto programming especially the smaller ones. Themes are even worse (largely those coming from ThemeForest). I understand the last thing on your mind now is buying stuff from us, just keep in mind we have an extension specifically for news websites, Articles (more info on our website). It adds news schema data for Google (so you show up in Google News). Just saying.

Happy to hear that, our plugin is often used by news type of websites that don’t really need an SEO plugin screaming at them about 300 SEO problems, that are not problems.

We will be here. Have a nice weekend and don’t work too much!

    Hello,

Just an update on our current progress after numerous hours of work.

So far, we’ve had success testing the page and requesting an index with Google Console after revising our security.

Although we have disabled Cloudflare, bottom line it most likely wasn’t the issue but something inside of our code that’s to do with security most likely blocking either a sitemap code or something we haven’t yet determined…

I’ll keep you updated and we will eventually be able to find the exact root cause of the issue and get back to you in case it has a conflict with anything.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I’d also like to know where to find your news extension. We are a publisher on Google News but fail to get seen in the news tab etc.

“I understand the last thing on your mind now is buying stuff from us, just keep in mind we have an extension specifically for news websites, Articles (more info on our website). It adds news schema data for Google (so you show up in Google News). Just saying.”

Please let me know what this does as I’d be typically interested if it connects with TSF.

    Cheers.

Hey Sam, sucks that you are still fighting this, especially over the weekend.

The Articles extension is described on our website, we are not allowed to discuss premium products here on forums (you can always reach out to me elsewhere @lebaux on twitter/reddit/telegram/gmail/element or lebaux#6300 at discord).

Maybe we can even help you crack that issue you are having. Until then, I hope you’ll enjoy the weekend a little today!
