change the site url

i have been trying to change the site address (which is posted above) to an address without the /wp. I have changed it by the setting – general and deleted the /wp. Then an error occurred and my site was damaged. Thankfully I had a wonderful help and was able to fix the problem. So, back to my original goal on taking the /wp off my site’s URL. I eagerly await a reply.
p.s.
I checked and I no longer can change the url from the setting’s general page.
