Are you kidding? I installed this plugin to create a master password for the 40 or 50 pages that already had passwords on them. I then realized that the Lite version only does Posts and not pages at all. When I de-activated and deleted the plugin it conveniently deleted ALL my previously set passwords on my pages. ?????

Beware before you try this plugin. I now have a ton of work to do replacing all those deleted passwords.

Thanks PPWP, you just made an enemy.

  • Hello @futurex5,

Hope you’re doing great as usual.

We understand your frustration and truly apologize for any inconvenience caused.

We wish that you had reached out to us for support before deactivating the plugin. It’s a rather unfortunate situation that can be avoided.

Just to clarify, WordPress only allows you to set 1 password while our plugin allows unlimited passwords per post. Technically, we can’t use 1 password from WordPress data and the rest from ours.

That’s why once PPWP Free is activated, the default WordPress passwords and its protection feature are removed and hidden to avoid potential conflicts.

We’ve explained it in our documentation as well as on another support thread. There are some difficult decisions we have to make technically. And we understand that sometimes it’s not perfect.

Anyway, our team has been already working hard on that back-up feature that lets you restore all default WordPress passwords before deactivating our plugin. It’s finally released on Lite version 1.5.2.

That way, all your previously set passwords, and content’s protection status will resume as usual.

We appreciate your time spent on trying out our plugin.

Hope you understand and give us another chance to make amends and serve you better.

    Elena
