    Good morning,

I have a problem with this plugin. In “opt-in settings” I have set the possibility to update the data of the existing members.

I also set up sending an update email.

However, when a user already subscribed to the mailing list fills out the form, he displays a red error warning and the form does not send the data.

    Anyone else experiencing this problem?

    WordPress version 5.4.2
    Easy Forms version 6.7.0

    Thanks your help!
    Enzo

    Hey @klorofilla!

What error message are you receiving and what is the desired outcome? Do you want your subscribers to get the update email or do you want to have them updated right away?

    Cheers,

Hi Freddie and thanks for your reply.

Basically, if a user is already subscribed to the newsletter, he or she does not have the possibility to fill in the form because it returns an error.

I use a quote request as a registration form, so it may be that a user completes the form more than once.

I would like to make sure that a customer already on the mailing list fills out the form, his data is updated. Subsequently, the user must receive an update email.

To do this, I activated the option “allow already registered users to update their data” and I filled out the data update email, but it doesn’t work. The already registered user displays an error message.

Can you try to enter your details yourself, and then immediately enter them again?

The link where the form is present is this:

    Thank you for your time.
If necessary, I can activate an administrator account for you.

Let me know, see you soon.

    Hey @klorofilla,

The issue seems to be that the “Update User” message isn’t displaying on your form. When you have the setting you’re describing turned on you should see a link that prompts the user to send an update email. If you’re using a custom form you should use the automatically update setting.

    Cheers,
    Freddie

Hi Freddie and thanks for your reply.

I have correctly activated the option to update subscribers and I have activated the notification email. However, when a registered user fills out the form, it is not updated but displays an error message.

Can you please try to subscribe to the form? This way you will be added to the mailing list. Then try to sign up again but changing your name will cause the form to return an error instead of updating your details.

What I would like instead, is that the form updates the data without returning any errors to the user.

I am attaching a screenshot of the form settings:

PS: I redirected the page, now it’s on this URL: https://www.bombonierevino.it

Thanks and have a nice day.

    Hey @klorofilla,

I can’t see that picture it telling me to login. You could post it quickly on imgur and post that link to make sure it shows?

    Cheers,

Oh, I’m so sorry, I got the wrong URL address. Here, you should now display it correctly!

    @klorofilla,

If you want to update automatically turn off the “Send update email” setting and it should work correctly!
