Ephemeris – losing header

I started building a site with Ephemeris, with a full width header. Other pictorial content came along that clashes and makes the header redundant. Can I (bearing in mind I am a novice with very limited CSS experience) get rid of the header?

Or, no doubt easier, can someone suggest a suitably compatible theme to decant into? One thing I shall need is support for drop-down menus. I can’t find out whether Ephemeris does.
