Posts per Page shows too many posts

  • Posts per page doesn’t work as I expect. I want to show 3 posts, but when I put ‘3’ in it shows a large number of them plus links to many other pages.

    When I put “1” in, it shows 5 posts. When I put “2” in it shows 6. By this logic, “-2” should show 3, but “-2” also shows 6. “-1,” as instructed, shows all. “0” shows 16.

    There doesn’t seem to be any logic to it. Am I missing something? Or does this sound like a plugin conflict?
