WordPress Sucks? Need a Consulltant

  • Hi folks.

    Actually, WordPress does not suck; it’s an amazing and liberating platform.

    I operated https://crimeinamerica.net until it died due to the 2.9 upgrade. I submit that anything that dies merely due to an upgrade indicates feebleness in the technology.

    It also indicates that criminologists (me) should stick to criminology and let the tech people do WordPress. If I’m going to do WordPress, it seems that I need a platfrom (paid Theme) and/or paid customer support.

    I don’t need someone telling me to code as a solution to my months of hard work dying due to a WordPress upgrade. I do not know how to code. I do not know php or CSS.

    What I need is a reliable platform and someone to fix my problems when necessary.

    Opinions-suggestions would be welcomed.

    There are lot’s of experts on WordPress out there. And here on the support forums lot’s of them are even willing to help you for free. If your blog is serious business to you, you might want to think about getting a freelance webmaster who you could contact every one in a while for support ;).

    Everything eventually dies. PHP changes, SQL changes, servers change, and so on. Technologies change all the time, can’t avoid it… Thus at some point everything dies. If you want to work with a PHP website/blog, you have to keep that in mind and get used to it. Otherwise, go for a simpler plain html site, which you can create yourself without knowing much of coding, using easy softwares such as Front Page (which is pretty much like using Word).

    Otherwise, listen to Aminozuur: pay someone to do the job for you.

    Have a look at the resolutions in this thread. It seems to be exceptionally similar to the first of the errors on your home page.

    Try Blogger – it is very easy. Much easier than WordPress IMO.
