Need Encouragement…

Well, sorry for pointing out the obvious, but have you looked around for another theme to change things up a little?

I think your site is layed out well, although if I may suggest two things: maybe lose the lines on the paper and bump up the fonts in the menu just a little. I realize removing the lines no longer makes it the “notebook” paper you have, but it might make it easier on the eyes.

Took the lines off. I like the font size though. I might bump them up a little but not much.

i would kill those lines behind the top menu. maybe do a gradient or something. or just do a line on top and bottom, kinda like a frame.

what are you using for the menu drop downs? is that a java?

The drop down menu’s are java. I know, I know. But they work.

Maybe it’s my OLD eyes but I thought the yellow was less brite than white. Black on white strains my eyes.

I like the drop down menu’s transparency. How about changing the background color behind the menu boxes so it is not also yellow. Bring in a third color? Maybe a grayish-burgundy? The yellow is fine, just keep the green down like you have. The more green you add to the 255-red will make it more neon-looking and eye irritating. If you want to go even softer add more blue (keep red/green where it is and raise your blue up into the 170’s). Then you’ll get more like a beige – like “#FFF3AD. “
