• I looked through the posts fairly well, so i guess i will ask here as a new catrgory. i am setting up a word press blog for a client as a public service. we are running it as a beta test thing right now. their concern is that once yo make a post, in general you can’t see it unless you refresh the page. this is a public forum and we ae certain a lot of people will post here and not know to reload or refresh the page and assume the blog doesnt work…
    any ideas??

  • I wouldn’t worry.
The browser setting that a person has will affect what happens, but if you are checking and rechecking and then checking again your browser might have just decided to save itself the effort and use the cache.
If I were to go there say twice a week or even twice a day, that probably would not be a problem.

If you are using images – such as in a header – and you change the image, it’s wise to also change the name. If you don’t, the browser will just see it has to load “/headerimage.jpg” and pull that from the cache. Alternatively, tell people to press CTRL-F5 (Windows machines) if you have made a change.

Overall though, I wouldn’t say it’s an issue.
