Home and siteurl do not change even after changing in phpmyadmin !

    This is a simply problem, but I have to explain the background of it to help you help me ??

    I installed a new blog on my new host that has been running alright, untill I finished preparing it, and changed the dns of the domain to point to the new path at the new host.

    I have al-rasid.com as the gate. It has three subdomains, each points to one of three blogs. The three blogs are physically located in 3 folders inside al-rasid folder which is under the root. The al-rasid.com points to al-rasid folder, ( the gate to the three blogs).

    After changing the domain dns, it worked instnantly, and al-rasid.com takes to the new al-rasid.

    I enetered phpmyadmin and changed “home” and “siteurl” to the new subdomains:
    cinema.al-rasid.com
    personal.al-rasid.com
    armedia.al-rasid.com

    The last two worked perfect, the first did not. The subdomain of it shows the index, but browsing from the index to any page , category, post etc, takes to the original (physycal url), namely, in the browser’s address bar, it shows “tollab.org/al-rasid/cinema…” instead of remaining under “cinema.al-rasid.com”.

    When going to admin panel, it also redirects to the original, real path, even though any change I make there appears under the index despite the index appearing as “cinema.al-rasid.com.

    Yet, if I go for instance to “cinema.al-rasid.com/about” it shows internal server error. If I access that page through the real url it laods okay.

    I entered admin panel, and the blog url and wordpress url are still the same, the originals (www.tollab.org/al-rasid/cinema), although I changed them in the database through phpmyadmin. I am sure of that !
    I cant change them from admin panel, they are grayed out.

    1- How can I solve this ?
    2- What do I have to do after pointing the domain to the new host, to ensure the visitors and old urls in search engines to be redirected well, as well as any plugins that might be url-related ?

    Hello Again.

    Some Scripting expert at Hostmonster (Dreamhost) has solved the issue for me. Still I dont know what I have to do to guarantee a flexible and proper redirection of search engines / searching people. I am trying to do the 301 redirect thing, but not knowing how.

    Old blog was at https://www.al-rasid.com/blog (www.i3tesam.com/iceq/al-rasid/blog)

    It is not at cinema.al-rasid.com (tollab.org/al-rasid/cinema)

    I want to redirect it to the gate, namely https://www.al-rasid.com (tollab.org/al-rasid/).

    Now if I visit https://www.al-rasid.com/blog I am redirected to the site on the new host.

    If I however visit a link through Google, which is :
    https://www.al-rasid.com/blog/about/what-is-my-blog-about/

    I get 404 as you can see.

    So where should I place the 301 code, in the old host or the new one? and what should it contain ?
