My name is Ninfa and I am starting in the wordpress and creation of web pages.
I am doing my website on a local host and activate the plugin to be able to share my blog entries.
When sharing on facebook and linkedin and it throws me the following error: Parameter ‘href’ should represent a valid URL.
    What is causing this error?

Hi @ninfadelgado is the website live as yet? Generally, Facebook and LinkedIn do not allow sharing from local development environments like “localhost”.

What is the URL of the page you’re trying to share?

Hi, I am still working on local host, and the page I want to share is an entry from my blog.

Additionally, configure the buttons to be displayed so that they follow me after thanking the share and they do not appear.

    What am I doing wrong??

Once your website is publicly accessible, it should work fine. Facebook servers need to be able to access your content for it to be shareable.

re the Post Share App, let me know your Site Profile ID and I can take a look at the settings.

    It is a local host.

I tried to share using twitter and if you share the post but I never got the message of thanks for sharing and the options of the follow buttons.

Thank you very much to be starting I have many doubts.

@ninfadelgado Settings look fine. Are you able to publish the site somewhere so I can take a look?

I am not able to do it, I have a hosting is it very difficult to do it ?, I have not dared because I think I can damage what I have done.

@ninfadelgado our suggestion is to go live/public without the post-share prompt app enabled and once the site is live, we can take a look at why it’s not working on your website. We haven’t received similar reports from others, so the only way to replicate the issue to troubleshoot is to take a look at what is happening on your site specifically.

If you can give us access to the site pre-launch, do let us know, and we can take a look.

    Thanks for your help.

If I understand what you are saying, I must disable the Social Share Buttons option until I put the webside live or all the options of the plugin?

@ninfadelgado Not quite. You can keep everything on until you go live. Facebook sharing will work once you’re live as Facebook expects whatever is being shared to be live and accessible on the internet publicly.

Hy I already put the website live and as you told me the sharing of the posts on facebook and linkedin already works, but the buttons continue to appear without following me with the message of thanks for sharing.

The address of the page is http: https://www.clinicafinanciera.com.ar, can you see me why these buttons do not appear so that they follow us?

    Thank you

    On the following page:

    1. Both Facebook and LinkedIn work.
    2. On Chrome+Mac, the post-share window does work for me on this page. What browser are you using? Do you have ad blockers turned on? Have you tried in incognito mode?

    (@ninfadelgado)

The phrase share appears to me but the buttons to follow us is what I don’t see.

    I use Chrome browser

@ninfadelgado Got it. I see what you’re saying now re Follow Buttons not appearing in the Post Share App. We’re taking a look – stay tuned!

    (@ninfadelgado)

    ok I’ll be watching.

I tell you that the page at this time does not look good, because I had to verify why there are some pages that Elementor could not open and among all I was breaking it to test.

Tell me if it is possible what I have not configured in the plugins.

@ninfadelgado re Follow Buttons not appearing in the Post Share App – this has been fixed.
