• Hi
I am new to www.remarpro.com and am tearing my hair out!

I created a site on wordpress.com and in addition installed xamp on my computer and installed wordpress. At first I used the www.remarpro.com installation, but then thought this might not be necessary, so worked on customising my .com site. Having completed the customisation, I decided that I needed some plug-inns and so would export that site and work on it locally via xamp/www.remarpro.com.

The problem is, I cannot login as I have forgotten my username and password. I ten submit my email address and nothing is emailed to me.
I have checked on my mail server, I have contacted their support and got a response saying
“There have not been any e-mails sent to [email protected] from wordpress in the past 8 days which have reached our server. Perhaps the e-mail is being sent to a different e-mail address?”
So I do not know what to do.
I have created a new account with wordpress in order to use this forum. This username and password will not let me access my admin panel either.
Please can someone tell me what to do. I have wasted hours trying to resolve this.
    Many thanks
    Sarah

  • Which login is the problem? The one on wordpress.com or the one on your machine?

    The one on my machine.

Actually I am really confused about this. I am trying to login to www.remarpro.com and it is asking for my details. As I do not know what my details are, I choose to have details emailed to me. I type in my email, and get a message that an email is on its way, but nothing arrives. My server support say that nothing is arriving from wordpress!

What I want to do, is work on my local installation. I can see the site I have created, but am not able to login to the back-end to work on it.

Your account and login at wordpress.com, your account and login to the forums here at www.remarpro.com, and any wordpress site you have installed (either locally through XAMPP or on a web host) are all completely different animals. There is no correlation in logins and passwords, unless you specifically change them to correspond with each other.

You’re not getting password change emails from your local install because either XAMPP is firewalled or the php mailer is otherwise blocked.

On your local machine (or on any hosted wordpress install) where you’re not getting password reset emails, you can change your password using phpmyadmin, which is part of the XAMPP package, or by other ways, so see Resetting Your Password ? WordPress Codex for instructions on how to reset your password wth phpyadmin, on the mysql command line or through an emergency script uploaded via FTP.

    Hello members,

I also can’t reset my WordPress password (to access the post dashboard. I try resetting but I never receive links in my email for confirmation or reset.

    Please help me.
