Page ID vs. Title

  • If I want to exclude a page from wp_list_pages I can reference the page ID, but what if I want the file name or some other indicator?

    People mentioned permalinks – mine are set but still shows only an ID not name.

    Also, the classy wp_list_pages was pointed out for this but I’m not sure how to use that for multiple dynamic sub nav menus.

  • Have you tried using the page slug, does it not work? Why do you not wish to use a pageID?

    Well, if the client creates a new page, they’ll have to exclude each page in the actual template rather than it being automatic. Maybe on the wrong path here…

    I guess I’m just looking for a way to categorize certain pages (not posts) when they’re created and exclude them from certain dynamic menus and places without having to go into the code. Maybe that’s not possible.
