  • This post might help.

In brief, you’ll need to fix the value for siteurl in your database using PHPMyAdmin or your choice of database tool, and probably modify wp-login.php to stop WordPress trying to be helpful by changing it back.

Admin – is it possible to make a link to this solution “sticky” – variations of it seem to be biting a lot of people.

@lbessant – unfortunately sticky posts are not yet an option here..so we’ll have to keep pointing people at various threads. I’ll try and come up with an idea about that though..

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have scanned the DB in PHPMyAdmin but I cannot find a wp-login file? I am SURE that it is a operator error, but none the less I am at a loss.

Since I am such a newbie to this, do you suggest that I just blow away my WP site and bulid another? Would that be the easiest thing to do, or this is a realtively simple fix?

    Thanks.

The siteurl and home values in the table wp_options are what WP uses.
    This page describes resetting them:
