Product search in categories in product edit

Hi,
Is it in the cards to enable instant search in product categories when you are assigning a category to a product in product page? I refer to the categories list on the right sidebar in edit product. When this list i miles long, it becomes very difficult, finding and selecting the correct categories. Will it be like in the menu product categories search ,where you can just search after the category and add it? Or am I missing something completely?
