It seems that you have to have an administrator role in order to enter historical events. I have a volunteer working for my museum entering events, but she couldn’t access the tab until I made her an administrator– something I don’t want to do for just anyone. Is there a way to set it so that author or contributors can make entries?

To allow other people (or other roles) to manage tdih you must give them the manage_tdih_events capability. There is still, after many years, no way to manage capabilities without a plugin.

I suggest that you use something like Roles & Capabilities. This will allow you to add the manage_tdih_events capability by going to the user or role, clicking on the new capabilities link and then clicking the checkbox next to manage_tdih_events and saving. I suggest you just add it directly to the user since you only have one. When they log in they will have access to the whole Historic Events menu.

Thanks, I’ve loaded it and will try it.
