  • You can display the description below the picture by adding template=caption to the shortcode but I too am trying to figure out how to both add the title under the picture and how to show the description when I open in lightbox or vice versa.

    Forgive my ignorance.

But, what and where is the shortcode?

    Hi,

you can use [ngg gallery id=x template=caption] and change the gallery-caption.php file or the css if necessary.

What would I change in the caption.php or the css to make the captions appear?

Nothing to change if you use the ngggallery tag …

[ngg gallery id=x template=caption] and all is ok with the 1.4.3 version and the default style, don’t know for other version

I just created this site and used the gallery plugin. But I want to have captions show below each image, and I got it to do that on the first page of the gallery but it wont show up on all the other pages 2,3,4 and so on. Does anyone know how I can get it to work, heres what im talking about : https://nwcanopies.com/gallery/

    thanks

Hey Mike…I just checked your site and it looks like you got it figured out…how’d you do it? ??

Hey, Mike hasn’t responded yet, but he said it had something to do with captions.

Yeah, he sent me an email about it and I’m still stumped…I’m really an amateur.

    I had to use [nggallery id=x template=caption]

Still can’t get mine to work.

Anyone got any ideas? I’m using WP 2.9

Same problem here… I am using [nggallery id=1 template=caption], and the thumbnails are okay…but not displaying desctiption and title.

Using Nextgen version downloaded 2 days ago, on Headway 1.56 and WordPress 2.9

It looks like it is trying to get the info from somewhere as it is adding this into the code after each image. <span>&nbsp;</span>

Has anyone any ideas which bits of code we need to be looking at?

I have done a fresh install on a spare domain with only the gallery as the only plugin so it must be a coding or database issue.

The problem seems to be replicated for a few people and it would be nice if the code creator could comment on the issue.

    Folks
There is nothing wrong with the code!!!!

The issue is with the colour contrast in the “Manage Gallery” section.

By this I mean that you can’t see that underneath “Alt & Title Text / Description” there are two text boxes one above the other for every image.

The first one is for the “Alt & Title Text” and the one below is for the “Description”.

Now I know this the “template=caption” is working fine!!!

I’ve installed a higher contrast theme by using an admin theme plugin.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi there,

The same issue. Titles are displayed besides the images, even if I use this code: [nggallery id=1 template=caption]

In the other hand, I am getting two Add button per image! The first one is showing a piece of code as follow:
    ” class=”shutterset_set_1″ >

Any idea on how to solve the problem. You could see the problem here: https://www.severus.es/blog/2009/12/prueba/

    Thetyke
In my case I see clearly the two boxes. That one is not the issue, the issue is somewhere in the code
