Home Page Not Updating

Remember to press CTRL and F5 simultaneously when viewing an updated page/site. Or try emptying your browser cache. This should ensure that your web browser fetches a fresh copy of the page rather than serving up an out-dated copy from your own cache.

Have you tried switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

It does the same thing with all my installed themes, even the default. Sigh……

Try:

– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

This did it. I deleted all the unused and unnecessary plug-ins and determined that the bad actors are the Event Calendar and Event Calendar Widget plug-ins. So the front page updates but now I have to figure out how to make the plug-ins work because the EC Widget in my sidebar is a key feature of the site.

Thanks for your help and if you’ve any ideas on this one I’d love to hear them. I’ll go to the developer’s site and see if I can contact the developer directly.

I tinkered with the settings on EC3 and it’s now working and the home page is updating.
