Meta Description excerpt not generating

Thanks for testing for conflicts! The meta description tag doesn’t appear at all, so we recommend going through the steps in this page: I’m not seeing a meta description in the head section in the source code of my site.

Thanks, I’ve gone through this but none of the suggestions were relevant (already had wp_head code in the theme, default description is set to excerpt).

Just to clarify, you are using the latest version of Yoast SEO for WordPress 14.2, right? This issue is only occurring for your homepage or does it occur for your other posts or pages? Also, just to clarify, you’ve used the %%excerpt%% variable in the default meta description template under Search Appearance?

Yes, I’m using 14.2. This occurs on all pages, and I am using %%excerpt%% as the default description.

@metadigitalnz If you clear your site’s cache (server, plugin/theme, or CDN such as Cloudflare) does this resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear your server cache you should speak with your host provider.
