SSL error occurs / Connection is not private

  • Hi,

    I recently encounter some problems with my SSL certificate (“Certificate expired on May 28th”; “This connection is not private”). The problem is that it does not always occur.

    [by the way my site is in ‘coming soon mode’]

    I already did the following:

    – I checked if SSL is still valid at my hosting provider. And it is – still valid until August 2020

    – I am using Elementor: So I checked if there are any “http” left. But since I have started with “https”, there was no mixed content.

    – I installed the plugin Really Simple SSL

    – I checked the source code if there is showing up “https://my-url”. But no – I couldn’t find anything.

    I checked the side a couple of times in the last hours. And it seems to work. However, when I checked it this morning, I got the “is not private” screen.

    Could it be that the “Really Simple SSL” took some time to ‘start working’ and it is okay now?

    What else could I potentially do to discover what is wrong with the site?

    Where you have encountered such problems? Something really old that doesnt use SNI ?

    First of all: Good to hear that you could not find any issues.

    Yesterday, I had this problem with the SSL. I asked a friend to check the site (I deactivated coming soon mode for 10 mins) and he encountered the same issues.

    Then I installed the SSL plugin.

    This morning I had the same issues.

    But to be honest: Since afternoon (couple of hours ago) I constantly checked the website and there are no issues.

    It seems that it is working now. Maybe the SSL Plugin really took half a day to start working or so… I have no idea ??
