I made my first post, and was shocked to discover that it displayed my e-mail address.

I went to Settings > Discussion > Other comment settings and unchecked Comment author must fill out name and email

It no longer displays my e-mail address, but it doesn’t display my name, either.

I thought the norm was for people to make posts that display 1) their names, or 2) pseudonyms. How can I set it up to do that?

    Thank you.

Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this. Thanks. Note: Your link will be public and we will not later remove it.

Posts do not normally display author’s emails.

Do you have your email as part of your name in your profile? What do you have set as the display name? See https://i.imgur.com/Dz7yIjA.png

Thanks. You may have fixed it.

I was modifying the values under settings. However, the picture you posted looked unfamiliar, so I checked it out and discovered the user settings.

I replaced “Display name” with my real name.

The only problem now is that it doesn’t display anything – not even my name. I have had browser caching problems before. Also, this is a sticky post. Does that make a difference?

The post itself still shows your email.

Please show a screenshot of that section of your user profile.

OK, give me a couple minutes…

OK, I put the image on that same page/post.

Weird, in Safari it does display my e-mail address, but Opera displays nothing. I’ve been having some weird problems with both browsers. ??

    That fixed it… See https://i.imgur.com/ThgbLe2.png

I think you now just need to clear cache in your browser(s) and on the site.

Wow, I need to hire someone to show me what my websites really look like. ??

Thank you so much for your help.
