    To whom it may concern:

I have the free version of UpdraftPlus in my WordPress site and I use it to generate backups which I save in my Google Drive. I generate backups this way daily automatically.

The problem is each time I wanted to restore from the Google Drive the process failed and when I download the .zip files generated to upload them trhough cPanel and extract them in my site, the .zip file were damaged and was impossible to unzip them even in my computer.

I checked that the las 5 days all the .zip generated files are damaged and the .zip of the 6th day is good. But if I use this to recover I will lose what the information of the last 5 days.

I hope you can help me with this issue.

    Thanks,

    Víctor

    Hi Victor,

Please could you send us a copy of the latest full backup log?

This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
Please don’t post the log directly here, use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and pate the link here.

    Regards,
    Bryle

    Hi,

    Thanks for sending the logs.

It appears that the restoration process has been timed out or being killed off most of the time while unzipping the plugins.zip file.

Please ask your hosts/server admin and have them check the PHP error logs. These logs should contain a record of the exact information as to why the process could not complete.

    Kind Regards,
    Bryle

Hi Bryle, thanks for your reply.

The main problem is when the zip file is generated by Updraftplus, which is wrong since the beginning. That’s why is still wrong when is saved in the Google Drive and is wrong when I want to use it for recovery.

Hope you can help me with this.

    Hi Victor,

    Apologies for the late reply.

Are you saving multiple backups from multiple sites on your Google Drive?

    Hi Bryle.

No, I am not. I’m trying to saving one backup from one site on my Google Drive.

According to the test I did, the problem is in the transmision of the zip files from my WordPress site to my Google Drive throught UpdraftPlus.

When I generate a backups I download directly from my WordPress site the generated zip files (using cPanel) and the files are good. However, when I download the same zip files from my Google Drive (after the UpdraftPlus transmision), I can not open some files, specially the Upload zip file.

I hope you can help me with this.

    Hi Victor,

    Apologies for the late reply.

Are you still having the same issue? What is the exact error you are getting when downloading the backups from the dashboard? Do you have any other websites you can test too? See if you get the same issue?

    Regards,
    Bryle

    Hello Bryle.

I’m having the same issue. The error is that I can not unzip the zip file. And the problem only arrises with the “uploads” zip.
I don’t have others websites to test too.
    Regards,
    Víctor
