Any “Light” WordPress Versions Out There?

I love WordPress, but the new versions have too much added fluff for my liking. Is there a “light” version available similar to the older ones that uses less resources?

I just think the new versions have so many bells and whistles that it actually hinders my blogging experience. I just want something simple that loads fast and let’s me make my post with as little hassle as possible.
