Store Vendor messaging Customer

Hi, what feature do I use to achieve this:
After a Customer makes an order, Store Vendor needs to message the Customer to ask them a question about the order. The Customer may not be online at that moment and they should not see each other’s email address, so Chat feature is not suitable. How else do I achieve this?
