Please help with wierd issue

  • I am a newbie and apologize if the issue I am facing has already been posted before.

    I was playing around my blog settings yesterday. In the settings, we can use custom blog where we can use our own url so that word press blog gets redirected to our own url. I have been using my website url vikasranjan.com/blog for 2-3 months now and it was working fine till yesterday.

    Yesterday I did try to update the url link and mistyped the url and saved it to /www./vikasranjan.com/blog/wp-login.php.
    I can still see my blog without any settings and now when I click on login page to connect to it to fix it , I get the following error message :
    The requested URL /www./vikasranjan.com/blog/wp-login.php was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Also I have forgotten my logon credentials and when I try to retrieve it, I am not getting any emails with the password retrieval.

    Please advice.

    Change the URL back, using one of these methods:

    Reset your password with one of these methods:

    As you have provided the below mentioned solution:
    1) Edit wp-config.php

    It should be possible to fix the site URL using a new feature –

    Add these two lines to your wp-config.php, where “example.com” is the NEW location of your site.

    define(‘WP_HOME’,’https://example.com’);
    define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’https://example.com’);

    I think if I need to edit wp-config.php , I need to logon first. As I mentioned earlier , I dont know the logon credentials. As per the url you provided , it asks to first logon to admin penal. How do I logon to admin penal when my credentials arent working?

    Sorry for the trouble. I am really struck at this point and not able to find any solution.

    Thanks to your help and Please ignore my previous email.

    I am finally able to fix the issue I was having with url redirection. When I try to log on to my blog, it directs me to the correct url.

    I also used the emergency script to reset the password and got a confirmation email from the word press administrator with the password which I rest. But when I log on with the new password, it still doesn’t log me in.

    Please advice.
