Image optimization key

After update my credits which was used for image optimization was removed and I can send only single image request now. I also need apply for domain key, and that is something which wasn’t used in previous version.

The old credit system is no longer in use. The new image optimization process is much simpler. It begins with a single image. This is just to test out your connection with our server. It will gradually increase to 200 images per request.

The Domain Key allows our online services to communicate securely with your site. We did actually use a form of this in the previous version, but it was behind-the-scenes.

So my question is. Do I have to pay something extra for using optimization function from version 3.x? Or it’s still free? Some details about that would be nice.

Image Optimization is still free for unlimited usage. The difference is that we now have a “fast queue” that we didn’t have before. You are given a certain amount of free quota to use the fast queue every month. When your fast queue quota is gone, you can either buy more, or you can go back to using the free unlimited standard queue. It’s up to you.

What with users who removed original images after optimization. If I decide to Destroy All Optimization Data there is a risk that part of my posts will left without any images?

No. There’s nothing you can do in image optimization that will result in your images being deleted.

Destroy All Optimization Data will look for original image backups, and if it finds them, it will copy them back over on top of the optimized versions. Since your backups were deleted, the optimized versions will remain in use. Destroy All Optimization Data, in your case, will only clear out the information from the database.
