    Hi
I wanted to make the settings in Remote Storage for FTP. Then when I click on the Test and Add button I get the following error:

Failed to create a backup. Make sure you have sufficient privileges to perform the operation.

    Could you please help me?

    Best regards

    Hi @jencor

Thanks for reaching out to us!

Please confirm whether the FTP server user you entered has the permission to create directories and files under the directory (the absolute path) you entered?

If you do have the permission, then also confirm that the directory (the absolute path) path you entered is correct.

Please feel free to let us know if the issue still persists.

    All the best,

    Hey @jencor

    Thanks for the update.

Can you please try to manually create the absolute path on your FTP server using an FTP client, then try to add the server on WPvivid Backup plugin again?

    All the best,

    Hey @jencor

Since we haven’t heard from you for a while, I am going to mark the thread as resolved.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any further questions.

    Kind Regards,

Hi just installed free version to try-from what I understand I am ABLE to use remote FTP with free version? Is THIS possible? I wan’t to send my backups to a remote ftp that is on a different server (not where the site “lives”) different IP… different domain is that possible? basically I want to store the backups where my main company site is located. I tried connecting numerous times.

Maybe i’m entering something wrong. Tried IP address AND https://ftp.xxxxx.com for server. User name is actually an email address on inmotion. Password checked it a million times, changed it, checked it again – then path – here’s where I may be messing up I have /home/username/folder/ Does the FOLDER have to be named something specific?

NO MATTER WHAT I DO, (and tried sftp) when I hit test – I get this… Failed to create a backup. Make sure you have sufficient privileges to perform the operation. – WHAT PRIVILEGES WHERE? On my host, in the settings here? The folder IS WRITABLE…

YES – I CAN CONNECT to this ftp/files with filezilla no problem. Google drive works fine, but I need to use remote ftp please! an EXACT example of filling in the fields would be great- and YES I did look at documentation (for starters the user name isn’t an email address) It just doesn’t help me… THANK YOU!
