    Hi there,
I have spent hours trying to sort out paragraphing on my blog. Ive had my blog up since about 2010 and I think the change over to the new editor meant there were formatting issues on my blog. I am systematically going through my top ranking posts and doing SEO. This post has really stumped me though.

I think it was one block, so i cut and paste it so each paragraph was in a block, using the plus sign and selecting paragraph, but its not working. If i go in and add html coding it messes it up to the point its a mess.

(My son is a software engineer but hes very busy) but I dont want to ask him to help me with my 200 posts everyday. I want to work out whats happening and why.

  • It appears that you are updating older posts in the new Editor. You are most likely seeing the content in one block called the Classic block. It should provide an option to convert the post to blocks so you wouldn’t need to copy/paste each bit of content. I recommend trying that first.

Once it is converted to blocks, you can go through and fine tune anything that may be out of place.

Hey thanks Mark. I found the button that converts content to blocks. The only thing my content needs is a paragraph between blocks. So i either hit return or use the plus sign to add a paragraph and nothing happens. if i look at the html coding editor i can see its added paragraphs but its not showing up on the preview.

Yesterday I went in and added coding and thats what messed everything up.

OK I fixed it. OMG Block editor is a piece of crap. I installed the Classic Editor plug in and boom!!! All paragraphing is back without me having to do anything.
