  • I had the same problem. The plugin really slowed my site down. I disabled the plugin and then the site speed was fine.

    Hi @valmy02!

Thanks for writing in with your question!

The screenshots you’ve attached seemed to suggest the tracking scripts initiated by the pixel on your store is causing a 4-5 second delay. I had a look through the Chrome developer console, however, and cannot see this delay listed there. The same URL listed from Gmetrix loads within my browser within 25-27ms.

That said, it may be possible to avoid these network requests in browser by disabling pixel tracking through one of the plugin filters. This would mean that you would no longer be recording Analytics through the Facebook pixel however.

@ekk6787, thanks for your input! Quite often issues will seem related but can be caused by different environments. Especially with the different versions, plugins, and themes that can be in play within a WordPress/WooCommerce store. If you’d like us to look into your particular issue further, it would be great if you could raise a new topic for us to look at, or alternatively, pass on additional site details with examples of where you’re seeing the slowness.

In he meantime, @valmy02, could you let me know if you currently see the same delay when testing with your browser, and if you’d like to try out disabling the pixel tracking?

    Cheers!

    Simon.

    Hi, Simon.

Actually when I tested with Gtmetrix today, the problem disapeared, my speed was ok. I do not know why though.

I need the pixel for my ads, so it would not be good to turn it off. If the delay happens again I’ll let you know.

Not related question: I’ve translated several parts of your plugin to Portuguese-BR, how long does it take to be approved?

    Thank you,

    Valmy.

    Hey @valmy02,

Okay, that’s great news! Thanks for keeping me in the loop. As the network requests are being loaded by Facebook’s pixel tracking scripts, I’m not sure there would be much we could do from a plugin perspective other than to disable pixel tracking. However, if it does happen again, and we can recreate the issue, perhaps we can look into it further to see if there is anything else we can suggest!

As for the translations, is this something you’ve submitted already, or were thinking of submitting? The best initial step would be to submit a pull request to the Facebook for WooCommerce repository so that our developers can look at getting this merged. I’m afraid there’s no standard timeline for this to happen, as it may depend on the current roadmap and release cycle that our product team have planned. Though we’d be super grateful for any translation you can help with!

Will you be submitting a PR do you think?

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    Simon,

Yes, I have already submitted. The status of my 92 translations is ‘suggested’. No problem, I’m only asking out of curiosity. This was my first translation and I’d would be happy to help with others in the future.

    Thanks,

    Valmy.

    Hey @valmy02,

Thanks for that! Just to confirm, would it be possible to let me know where this was submitted? I want to make sure our team is aware of it for planning for the future.

Thanks again for helping make the plugin better for all merchants!

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    Hi @valmy02,

Ah! Apologies for the misunderstanding. It appears www.remarpro.com hosted plugins are a bit different for translations than our other plugins, so I may have confused things a bit.

I just checked in with our developers to see what steps needed to be taken, and they’ve let me know that we don’t have reviewer permissions for translate.www.remarpro.com. Therefore any submissions made there would need to be accepted by a reviewer from the Brazillian WordPress community.

In this case, I can’t say when this might occur! Sorry for the confusion I caused earlier, hopefully one of the reviewers will get to your suggestions soon. Thanks again for submitting those though, it’s much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    Hi Simon,

    No problem, I understand that.
Thank you very much for your reply.

    I appreciate that.

    Valmy.

    Thanks @valmy02!

Let me close this off now then, as we’re following up directly in the email thread. Thanks again for reaching out.

    Cheers,

    Simon.
