How do I register my new WordPress blog so I can get an API number?

    Hi all,

    I’m a newbie on WordPress, having recently defected from Typepad. My blog designer got me set up here, and I’m still in the baby-steps stage. I’m getting a LOT of comment spam. I asked my designer what to do and she said:

    “You need to activate the Akismet plug in, but first you need an API number, which you get by registering with www.remarpro.com <https://www.remarpro.com&gt; . Just register your blog name, and under profile it will give you the number to plug in to akismet.”

    I have looked all over but I can’t see where to register my blog name on www.remarpro.com. Can someone pls point me in the right direction?

    And will the Akismet plugin really help?
