I recently upgraded to the v2 plugin and been having problems with my pdfs uploaded to my media library.

It is trying to sync them with cloudinary I think, and I don’t know how to avoid this. I cannot delete them anymore, it gives me the following error:

“Sorry, you can’t delete an asset until it has fully synced with Cloudinary. Try again once syncing is complete.”

Is there a quick fix somewhere for this?

    Hi @macmacch,

I’m afraid that at the moment there’s no option to exclude PDFs in the sync operation.

Can you please open a ticket via [email protected], sharing your cloud name with us, so we can take a deeper look into it and help you with resolving this issue where your PDFs are stuck in syncing mode?

    Thanks,
    Raz

I’ve written to the support and they are looking into it. But my guess is they won’t be able to help.

My pdfs are not actually being synced with my cloudinary account (which is good, they shouldn’t be), but wordpress thinks they are.

I think my best course of action is probably to just roll back to the v.1 of the plugin.

Oh darn, I’ve just realized this is happening on all 3 my wordpress websites that have upgraded to the latest version of the plugin…

@macmacch thanks for creating the support ticket.
Please let me know if the issue was resolved for the first cloud you were experiencing this on and also make sure that you specify within the ticket’s thread the additional cloud names of your other two WordPress sites, so the same solution will be applied for all.

    Best,

@razinary No, I haven’t figured out the solution at all yet.

Right now, all the pdfs uploaded to my WordPress websites are all impossible to delete, due to the error “Sorry, you can’t delete an asset until it has fully synced with Cloudinary. Try again once syncing is complete.”

I haven’t figured it out for the first cloud account. Once I understand how to fix it, I will apply it to the other ones. I’m waiting for an answer from the Cloudinary support team.

But I’m pretty sure this has nothing to do with Cloudinary itself, just with the WordPress Cloudinary plugin, which is conflicting with the regular WordPress Media Library. So I’m not so sure how useful the Cloudinary Support will be.
