    Hi all,

I’m a pretty new WordPress and Yoast user.

The blog has had decent growth for the last 2 months.

I just noticed in the changelog it says this

“Fixes a bug where robots meta values defaulted to 0 instead of null because of a bug in WPDB. This could result in incorrect values for noindex, nofollow , noarchive, noimageindex and/or nosnippet. In order to purge the wrong data, we need to truncate our tables again. This means you will have to go through the indexing process again. We’re very sorry.”

Should I be concerned? I have about 20 posts on my blog. With two of them mostly bringing in most of the traffic. Do I need to do anything?

I did upload the sitemap toast created to google search console a few months ago. That’s about the limit of my understanding.

Are they saying we need to somehow delete the sitemap and upload a new one?

Hope someone can shed some light on this,

    Thanks,
    Sean

  • @seanyc5 you can force google to reindex your posts from GSC – google search console, by resubmit sitemap and post verification – index!

    Hi @seanyc5,

Thank you for reaching out! We apologize you are running into this.

Please know that the word indexation here might confuse you, this does not mean the posts or pages would no longer be indexed in the search engines, but that the plugin optimization process, which means the new indexables functionality that Yoast SEO 14.0 has, needs to run once more since the plugin devs had to fix some issues with the newly added database table.

Can you run the process by clicking on the button in the notification or by going to SEO > Tools > Speed up my website button and let it run. You should do anything regarding sitemaps or indexation on Google or any other search engine.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply Jeroen, I have clicked the button took about 3 seconds!

I thought there was going to be more to it haha, Thanks again.

Thanks for following up, glad to hear that. It all depends on how many posts/pages there are on your site. Happy to help. I’ll set the topic to solved for now.
