  • Hello @hazy23,

The only way to control how your website (pages) appear on Google search results is to install an SEO plugin like Yoast or Rank Math (OceanWP is supports both plugins), and then apply settings for each page/post individually.

Hope this helps. Best of luck with your website

    Hi Marko,

Thanks for your reply. I have installed Yoast and changed the meta data description. But this is not what google shows.

    Cheers,
    Hazel

As Marko S said, Yoast will enable you to amend what google shows, but if your new site’s already been indexed, it’ll take time for google to revisit your site and pick up the revised details.

Question: have you got a sitemap? If so make sure all your pages are in it, if not, set one up and these two steps will ensure google won’t miss any other pages.

P.S. Remember to set your descriptions as soon as you make your pages or posts ‘live’ as it’s easy to forget to do this (been there, got the t-shirt) and then you end up waiting for google to come back to get the changes you want.
