How to make a plugin that ONLY shows comments (and form) to logged in users?

  • The title says it all.

    I have a site where I only want to show comments and allow comments to users already registered on the site. Surprised there doesnt seem to be a ready made plugin for that.

    Full blown membership plugin is overkill.

    I imagine that one way would be to wrap the comments section in a conditional statement but I dont want to monkey about with the theme template.

    AND I want something more robust than just “display:none;” CSS.

    Any ideas to get started?
