    Hi Roman,

    I hope you are keeping well.

    I’d like to display a few YouTube video thumbnails on the above website – I wonder if you can tell me which is the best way to do this. I can see that there is a widget to add videos to the sidebar or footer, but I’d like to add a videos section, just as we have case studies, testimonials, blog, about me etc. What is the best way to achieve this with this theme?

    Many thanks,
    Jen

  • Hello Jen,

    You can try to use the Embed Plus for YouTube or a similar plugin:

    Please feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    Hi Roman,

    Thanks for this. I’ve made a start!

    You’ll see from the menu (haddonconsult.co.uk) that I have added a Video tab from the menu which links to a page of videos. This is working fine – thank you.

    What I was hoping to do was to show the latest 3 videos on the homepage, like we do with blogs/case studies, for example. I haven’t worked out how to do this, so instead I’ve used the ‘Videos’ widget and used it 3 times next to each other, to create what you see on the homepage. Is there a better way to do this? Perhaps there is a way to pull the videos through to the homepage automatically from the videos page?

    If not, please could you help me to reduce the size of the 3 videos on the homepage to something similar to the blogs/case studies in the section above? Also, is it possible to give a title to sit above the 3 video titles, something like ‘Videos’ with each of the video titles sitting underneath? I’d also like to put in a short description about each video, a bit like the excerpt before the blogs, if this is possible?

    Thanks so much – I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Jen

    The plugin that I mentioned above has the “Shortcode support for embedding multiple videos on one line” feature, you can try to contact the plugin support for more details regarding that feature.

    Hi Roman,

    Thanks for your reply.

    I’ve been in touch with the support person for the plugin. He said that to get 3 videos sitting next to each other I should use the columns within the row as your theme supports this. I’ve had a go – please see how it looks at the bottom of the homepage above the footer. There are clearly some issues!

    I only wanted one title saying ‘Videos’ so I left the titles blank for the left and right hand side videos – this has meant that the videos sit higher – and also when viewing on a mobile it puts the title in the wrong place. Is there a better way? I could leave all 3 video titles blank if I could sit one title above them somehow?

    Also can we overwrite the size of the videos in the CCS somehow? I’d like them smaller and to be the same size as the blog and case study images in earlier rows – can we do this?

    Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jen

    Yes, try to leave them blank and add an empty text widget with title in a separate row above.

    Hi Roman,

    Thanks for this. I’ve made a separate text widget for the title which looks much better.

    Please could you advise how I can get rid of the thin line which is sitting just above the text introducing each video (below the Videos title and above the text). I have managed to change the padding to get the distance right, it’s just the line I need to remove.

    I’ll open another query re. the video sizing as you suggest.

    Thanks very much,
    Jen

    Hello Jen,

    As a workaround, you can try to add this CSS code in Customize → Additional CSS section:

    #pg-773-10.panel-grid {
        border-bottom: none;
    }

    Kind Regards, Roman.
