MP3 uploads splitting into audio file and image file

  • Hello!

    This is something that is apparently already listed as fixed for WordPress installs but has persisted upon my install even upon a full server transfer / rebuild. I posted on the trac months ago but have yet to get a response. Is there anything I can do to fix this?? I self-host a lot of podcasts which have just been completely unable to make use of episode-level artwork as a result of this bug.

  • I read the tickets, and the ones that were fixed weren’t about the splitting of the file. Apparently, that was intentional for most files types. (think about a PDF or video) There is one comment that questions why it happens for mp3. So the other issues were fixed on those tickets, and the “split” issue was tangential.
    Now that you have a new ticket for the split, maybe it will be resolved also. (4 months isn’t very long around Trac)
    You could try attending a Media component meeting and asking about it when it is Open Floor time.
