Anti virus

Setting up a new WordPress site, and am looking at anti virus plugins.
I found one that looks quite good – Security, Antivirus Firewall.

Installed the free version and as it seems to tick the boxes went to purchase the paid version, however the developers domain appears to be owned by the developer. Also the plugins support forum hasn’t had a post for a year.

Presumably then the plugin isn’t Supported so is of little use?

Looking in the WordPress library there are loads of similar plugins but how do you know which are the good ones (I only have a small site and am okay paying up to say ￡30 but not more).

Any suggestions please?
