• Hi All

Got the plugin working great, but some of the MP4s are encoding multiple gbs bigger than their original when encoding as H264 at the same resolution.

I am wondering how I can adjust the bitrate so say, the max is 900kbs? The options here are in bits per pixel which I’m not familiar with.

Does anyone have any tips here for the plugin settings?

Would really appreciate any input on how to keep the videos (1920×1080 all at about 3-6 gbs) down to a more moderate 1-2 gbs?

For example, my encoding app on the desktop can encode them to 900kbs and keep the same resolution.

    Thanks.

900kbps is extremely low for a 1080p video, but if you really want to do it that low you could set the “Encode quality control method” setting to Average Bit Rate and the “Average Bit Rate” setting to .02 or .01 bits per pixel. I use bits per pixel in order give a range of kbps depending on the resolution. You can see a calculation of the approximate average kbps of 1080p, 720p, and 360p videos right below the bits per pixel setting.

Generally a CRF gives better results so you could try using Constant Rate Factor instead of Average Bit Rate and bump the H.264 CRF up a lot higher than the default of 23.
