It did not restore/overwrite my site

Restoring a backup is supposed to overwrite the entire site and database with the backup. It does not do so. It does change a few things, but a lot of the stuff still remains, won’t get deleted, and the pages’ contents don’t seem to get overwritten with previous backup contents.

I expected to have a backup solution that completely replaces the site with a previously backed up version. This has caused so many issues and wasted days. Time is money.
