Login redirect loop issue while Wordfence is activated
-
To whom it may concern,
We are hosting a number of WordPress sites for a client on a dedicated web server, all of which run Wordfence Security. These websites were migrated from different servers. There’s one particular site we host on the new server that has an issue while Wordfence is activated: the login page loops back to itself. This issue wasn’t present when the site was hosted on the previous server.
Currently, we have Wordfence deactivated as to temporarily disable the login loop issue, but we have attempted the following solutions:
- Deactivating all plugins (that’s how we detected there was an issue with Wordfence)
- Only activating Wordfence
- Checking for plugin conflicts
- Checking for theme conflicts (though other sites on the server run Wordfence and the same theme with no issues)
- Reinstalling Wordfence
- Resetting the Wordfence Application Firewall
- Reinstalling WordPress 5.4
- Changing the MySQL storage engine from MyISAM to InnoDB (InnoDB was already the default)
- Checking for missing PHP module requirements (server runs on 7.2)
- Forcing the website home/site URL via wp-config.php (WP_NAME, WP_HOME)
All of these solutions didn’t work. What else could cause the login loop to persist while Wordfence is running?
