The primary areas of focus for this plugin so far have been setup, configuration, staying up to date with the latest and greatest icons, detection and resolution of conflicts, supporting Font Awesome Pro, and more recently, kits.

It supports Font Awesome Free and Pro users in using their choice of Font Awesome version, and technology (SVG or Webfont), rather than whatever version happens to be loaded by another theme or plugin. We’re constantly putting out new icons, and we want WordPress users to be able to use them right away when new ones become available, without having to wait on other theme or plugin vendors to provide icon upgrades.

For icon search and selection, consider using our Icon Gallery to find the icons you want to use.

For designing with icons (style, color, transforms, layers, and more), you’ll find help and examples in our usage documentation.

There are other page builders and premium themes that incorporate some of those search, selection, and customization capabilities within the WordPress UI. Unfortunately, they also tend to load Font Awesome in ways that result in conflicts with other themes and plugins that also try to load their own versions of Font Awesome. This produces very complicated installation problems for WordPress site owners to try and solve. This plugin helps to detect and resolve such problems automatically so that users have a stable foundation upon which to use Font Awesome, potentially in combination with the page builder tools in those other products.

Hopefully, other plugin and theme vendors who have built good design tools within WordPress will move toward similar installation best practices, ideally using this code as a component in their own products. Then users can enjoy the best of both worlds: a stable, feature-complete installation of Font Awesome, along with user-friendly tools for an enhanced design experience.

    Hi,
    Thx for reply ??

It’s exactly the that i don’t whant to do !!!
Go from a tab to another and back and go again… No way!

That’s why i’m looking for an easy way, a quick “insert icon” feature.

    So, for information :
WP 5.4 + Kriesi’s Enfold (latest core+child theme) = Embeded “glyph/icon picker” displays some pre-stylised icons (for focuses, buttons…), not basic glyphs, which ones can be used in plain text …
(Ex. App available for iOs “icon”, android “icon” & windows “icon”…)

Anyway, glad to have exchanged these point of view
    All the best.

    MZ
