Can’t load template file

Hi, I have an issue with the translation of a plugin named Affiliates Pro. The plugin has a template file. I go to the Advanced tab and next to “Template file” I give it the path: plugins/affiliates-pro/lib/ext/languages/affiliates-pro.pot

However, when I add a new language I get only 5 strings to translate. I checked the template file, it has hundreds of strings. Why do I not see them when I create a language file?
