• For some reason the “magic quotes” or whatever there called is screwed up on my WP. Here’s what I mean.

    of “looking ahead", I’ve decided

notice how before looking ahead it’s a curly quote, then after ahead it’s not. How do I fix this, and I’d rather not have curly quotes, so how do I turn it off?

  • Are these characters you have cut / pasted from another application ? Like a word-processor ?
Does this happen if you directly use the WP editor ?

It’s all directly from the WP editor, I’ve even tryied deleting the ” but it doesn’t fix it. In the WP editor all the ” and ‘ show up the same (correct).

EX: weeks of “looking ahead”, I’ve decided

I have the same problem. Quotes before a full stop, comma or closing parenthesis don’t get converted to curly characters. For some posts, I manually replaced those with the corresponding code (#8221), but it would be nice if WP would automatically convert all characters.

I found a post in this forum that recommended the use of Markdown, but I can’t find it anymore.
