Currently, all the reviews fall into a sub-directory (review), is there any way to turn off this sub-directory and just have the posts appearing in the root directory as per other posts?

I know you can rename it, so I tried deleting it, but to no avail.

Is there something I can toggle within the settings?

    Thanks

    Ben

(I have other review types on the site and have used your plugin for the books, but use a standard video blog format for the other reviews, so was trying to be consistent from a SEO / URL perspective.)

    Hello,

because the plugin is creating and using its own custom post type, it has to be prefixed with the post types name. Otherwise WP won’t recognize it, which leads to 404s. It is just how WordPress works when not dealing with the usual “posts” and “pages”.

As you mentioned SEO, you should bear in mind that Google indexes and ranks content, not URLs.

Thanks for your prompt reply, much appreciated.

I’ll stick with things as they are.
