Polly ONLYAUDIO + ONLYWORD functions no longer work?

  • Two questions really on Polly…

    -AMAZONPOLLY-ONLYAUDIO-START-
    [This part will not be displayed in the browser but will be heard in the audio file.]
    -AMAZONPOLLY-ONLYAUDIO-END-

    Does this function as well as the ONLYWORD no longer work with Polly when using it within WordPress?

    Second question, when WordPress posts are “updated” with changes to posts/pages, these changes are not occurring within Polly. When I have gone back to revise older posts/pages when I “uncheck” the Enable Text-To-Speech (Amazon Polly) the audio remains on the page and is NOT removed. Any solution for updating-revising posts/pages within WordPress that ALSO updates Polly?

    No. This functionality was disabled last year.

    Any intent to add this functionality back?

    While the current plugin is interesting, it really isn’t functional given the lack of these functions for WordPress. The reason being there is often several items on pages like data tables or image captions that aren’t useful to transcribe to speech.
