    Greetings,

This plugin is beyond awesome, thanks so much for sharing it. Will be a great addition to my site once I get it up and running. Setup is mostly going well, but I’m stuck on something simple.

How to create a link field?

    The manual says…

“Link Field – this is a special field for defining a link, it allows the link text to be defined along with the URL. “

Ok, I know how to create the Link Field, but how do you “allow the link text to be defined along with the URL”? I see the Edit Field form, can’t figure out to use it.

I’m creating an article directory with fields: Title, URL, Site

I’m hoping the title for each record can become a clickable link using the URL for that record.

I know this is a stupid question but apparently I’m having a stupid day today. Thanks for your patience.

The link field is presented in the form with two inputs: one for the URL and one for the clickable text that is presented when the record is viewed. So, it is a standalone field, it does not place a link on another field.

With this plugin, the only way to use a field to place a link to another field (such as placing a link on a title) is to use a custom template for displaying the record.

Ah, I see, thanks for that clarification. For now I guess I’ll just put the title in one field and the URL in another, that works well enough. Custom templates look interesting, I’ll check them out once I’ve mastered all the basics.
