Limit news Displayed

    Is there a way to have a short code that limits how many news items are displayed? For example on ‘News’ Page using [News] will display all news (with pagination depending on Theme). But I’d like to add something like the latest news to the home page, but only have it show like the 3 most recent news. So something like [news latest=3]. Any way to do that?

    I see it has a widget, but I’m using the “full” screen version of a theme do you have a short code for the widget to add it to a post or page?
